Thirty-four community organizations have been awarded grants totaling $166,040 by East Boston Savings Bank’s Charitable Foundation.

The 2009 recipients are: Boys & Girls Clubs of Chelsea, Greater Salem and Lynn; CAB Health and Recovery Services, Peabody; Caritas Communities, Boston; Dimock Center, Roxbury; East Boston Central Catholic School; East Boston Adult Education Center; Everybody Wins, Boston; East Boston Main Street; East Boston Harborside Community School Education Program; East Boston YMCA; Family & Children’s Service of Greater Lynn; Generations, Inc., Boston; HarborCOV, Chelsea; Immaculate Conception School, Revere; NOAH (Neighborhood of Affordable Housing), East Boston; Piers Park Sailing Center, East Boston; Pine Street Inn, Boston; St. Mary Life Foundation of Lynn; Salesian Boys & Girls Club, East Boston; VNA of Middlesex-East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, Wakefield; and Wellspring House, Inc., Gloucester; Girls Incorporated of Lynn; Joint Committee for Children's Health Care; Lynn Home for Young Women; Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange, Inc.; YMCA of Malden; North Suffolk Mental Health Association, Inc.; At Home in Melrose; Greater Medford VNA; Neighborhood House Charter School; and YogaHope.

The East Boston Savings Bank Charitable Foundation was established in 1997 by East Boston Savings Bank to provide funding to support charitable causes and community development activities within the communities of EBSB. Since its inception, the Foundation has distributed over $595,100 in funding to support many deserving charitable causes and community development activities. To be eligible for a grant, an organization must be a Massachusetts charitable corporation tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
